"Bruno is brash. He is outspoken. He is often a public relations nightmare." Dan Illman, Daily Racing Form!
Actually all three are flat out exaggerations, fabrications and purely the work of a demented mind. I, Bruno De Julio, am actually, shy, withdrawn and lack imagination, but credit to Dan Illman, he is not that far off the mark!
I am mostly recognized as the Workout analyst for Today's Racing Digest, which I have been since February 1992. Today's Racing Digest Selected Workout analysis has been in the daily edition for 16 years and counting. I have also for the last three years bought yearlings and two-year-olds at sales auctions in California with the help of John Brocklebank and Shane Chipman of BC3.
My daily routine includes observing, analyzing, identifying and reporting about horses, jockeys, trainers and owners from tracks across the country. I am published daily, and produce the popular Workout Analysis exclusively in Today's Racing Digest. I also cover racing news from across the nation, write articles, columns, and the Racingwithbruno daily analysis for the Southern California circuit right here on Racingwithbruno.com, .
I have been involved in racing since my first trip to Del Mar in 1984. My thoroughbred racing involvement includes the New York based F.I.G.S Form and the Mirror Corp. and the late Robert Maxwell's Racing Times.
I have owned and raced thoroughbred horses like Sea Of Pleasure, Remember Boffi, Elsie Jo, Red Redding, Concettina, Cannonball Charlie,Hurley's Way, Ten Churros, Brian Boru, Captain Steel, Lavezzi, Susie Bar Fly, Shezascreamer, and recent maiden winner Shantika's Dream. I have horses with Adam Kitchingman at this time.
I am currently one of the featured contributors of the Inside Racing Radio show with host Jason Levine. The show airs on 570 KLAC every Saturday at 7 am. My spot is about 7:50 am
I am also the published author of Bruno On Workouts: Exposing the Mystery. A book that exposes the mystery of workouts and why thoroughbreds win. Partial proceeds from the books sales are being donated to the CERF foundation for retired thoroughbreds.
